I had already asked Karen to prepare the coffee for us – Sierra Nevada coffee in the syphon method. It’s a fun coffee brewing method that uses fire and gravity and science. But Karen wasn’t going to start with the fun. She was going to start with our taste buds.

When one of your favorite chefs invites you over for a meal, you don’t say no. At least, I don’t. So when Leonor Espinosa invited me to try out Misia, her new restaurant in Zona G (the National Museum spot has been open for a year), I was quick to say Sí.
Like many people’s egos, this fruit is easily damaged, which makes it hard to ship far. It’s part of that lure of Colombia, those fruits that you might not be able to try elsewhere.
