You need to learn about coffee fast.
You’re a busy person. Coffee is a fast-moving world, and you want to jump into it right away. And that’s the purpose of all of our coffee courses in the Latin American Coffee Academy.
Because we do not want to slow down your learning process. We want you to understand coffee, understand it well, and understand it fast.
Can you learn about coffee without taking a course? Sure. There’s plenty of free stuff available online.
But the reality is that wading through everything on internet takes time. And a reality for people just starting out is that they tend to wade around – lost – for a long time. That lost time means lost money and lost opportunities.
You’ve no doubt thought of taking a course that leads you directly to the information you need. You know that taking a coffee course will save you lots of time.

What kind of coffee course do you need?
But what kind of coffee course do you need? There are courses that cost thousands of dollars that will teach you everything you need to know about coffee, all the minute details.
However…Do you really need all that information NOW to get started working with coffee?
Probably not.
There are also plenty of barista courses, espresso workshops, and roasting workshops that cost hundreds of dollars each. Do you need one of those?
Well…Perhaps not at this stage in your learning.
Right now, what you need is an overview of coffee. You need to understand the different aspects of the world of coffee, including specialty coffee, and you need to piece all those different aspects together into one global view. And you need to do that fast.
Because maybe you’ll work as a barista and need a barista course – but maybe you won’t. So why take the course if you won’t use it?
Maybe someday you’ll be a roaster, but what you need to understand NOW are the fundamentals of coffee. Which a roasting course won’t give you.
Perhaps you’ll decide to be a Q Grader, or professional coffee cupper, someday. But taking a week-long course for a couple of thousand dollars is not going to help you get that overview of coffee. It’ll just help you understand the tastes of the coffee you’re drinking.
Our courses will help you get that overview of coffee that you desperately need. But we also do something different.
We make it fun.

Learn about coffee and have fun at the same time
Yes, you’ll have a good time learning about coffee with me. My name is Karen Attman, and I’ve spent the last eight years learning about coffee in Colombia and Latin America.
If you’ve seen the other coffee courses out there, they’re often boring! And complicated. In specialty coffee, it seems like everyone wants to make the information as difficult as possible to grasp.
Now, I’m in academia – I was a professor of coffee at a prestigious university here in Bogota, Colombia. And I teach coffee every week in our Flavors of Bogota Coffee Experiences. But I still think learning should be fun.
If you’re interested in what you’re studying, you’re going to be engaged with the information. That engagement means you’re going to learn more effectively. You’re going to learn faster and better.
(So yes, we can be intellectual and still make it enjoyable.)
I want you to learn fast and learn with pleasure.

Fast, simple, and entertaining sounds good, right?
